- Welcome to the world of Lazer Mech...
-
- This game was created and programmed by Joz Ong. The following is a brief text
- on the background of Lazer Mech and some game instructions. For a FULL detailed
- version, please read the instruction in the Instruction menu inside the game.
- The Registration fee for Lazer Mech is ONLY $10.00 (Aus.) ! This is DAMN cheap.
- And so if u wish to register, please print out the REGISTER.FRM and fill it out
- complete with a Cheque or Money Order to Jozarino Ong. Benefits of Registration
- include a much more advanced version of Lazer Mech, with FULL sound effects,
- More weapons to choose from, one player story mode with quests and prizes,4 new
- mechs to choose, and coming soon, a 4 player version of Lazer Mech!!! :-)
-
- This game is intended to be played by 2 players. Each controlling a mech, and
- trying to blow each other apart with the various weapons and devices they have.
-
-
-
- In the grim far future... those who control the giant mechs controlled power,
- and wealth. Each Mech owner tries to be the one surviving mech left, to
- control the world! Each day, great battles are won and lost through these
- battles held in stadiums held world wide. Two mechs enter the arena armed with
- their mechs, weapons and shields. It is a battle to the death, with the victor
- winning the prize of life. You get three types of weapons...
-
- 1) LAZER GAUSS - (Nickname - BFG9000)
- 2) AUTOCANNON SHELLER
- 3) MISSILE LAUNCHER - (For all you DooM freaks... :-))
-
- As an added bonus, you get a Plasma Shield equipped to your mech. These shields
- are great in that they prevent up to 10 damage to your mech, but consumes a LOT
- of energy! (Shields only last for 1 turn).
- And this brings us to talk about Mech Energy... you have a limited supply...
- 70 actually, and this powers your mech as well as providing power to your Lazer
- and shield. If you run out during battle... :-( Tough Luck Pal, instant death
- as the fusion core inside your mech explodes!!!
-
- SO DON'T WASTE ENERGY!!! hehehehehehehe :-)
-
- Below is the table of how much damage each weapon does and how much ammo it
- takes and the amount you have:
-
-
- +===============+===============+=============+===========+
- | WEAPON | DAMAGE: | TAKES: | AMMO: |
- +===============+===============+=============+===========+
- | | | | |
- | L.A.Z.E.R. | 1 - 15 | -5 ENERGY | 70 ENERGY |

- Aiming is a VERY important factor in Lazer Mech. Where you aim can effect
- the chances of you hitting your opponent. For example... aiming to hit the
- head of a Mech is very difficult... a mere 5% chance of hitting. However a
- large area like the torso is much easier to hit... a 60% chance... but is
- usually covered up with much more armour and thus makes it harder to
- penetrate. The leg has a 30% chance of being hit, and usually doesn't have
- that much armour to protect it.
-
- A small hint... one lucky shot to the head will almost definitely kill a
- whole mech... but the chances are very small... if you are low on armour
- and is running outta ammo, and even your shield doesn't look like it can
- protect you now... aim for the head (continuosly) for a quick blow :-)
-
- NB: A FAQ will later be written on further combat techniques and hints on
- how to beat your friends etc....
